before and after

March 24, 2010

I love this bathroom redo from Tracery Interiors.  Before the bath had a ridiculous amount of storage…something I loathe in a bath. Really how much product do you really need?  And this design company didn’t take the easy way out on this bath.  A little paint, new counters, new knobs, new lights.  It could have been a simple facelift but you still would have had a totally funky layout.  The new layout repositioned the tub and simplified the vanities.  The after is a quiet, serene, spa like retreat.

This is some serious storage!

Yikes crammed in the corner, Not someplace I'm going to wan to relax at the end of the day.

Notice the blue paint at the top of the walls taken up onto the ceiling.

tuesday’s find

Warm weather season is right around the corner so it time to start thinking about your outdoor living areas.  I was Home Goods today and spied a new shipment of bright-colored outdoor pillows, tables, benches and planters.  I wish I had the orange, red and yellow scheme but alas I’m in my blue phase.  These items will certainly make a statement on any patio!

1)Graphic rugs

This lovely Anthropologie rug in Jamie Meares LR from i suwaannee. This is great accent totally interchangeable for when you tire of it or even as the season changes. Keep the sofa neutral and have fun with the rugs!

2) Reinvented Windsor Chairs

This is such a fabulous color. You have seen this chair a million times on Craigslist you just pass it by because it's ugly pre painting. Check out the link below for more great images

3) Easy Flower Arrangements

I love to pick up a bunch of flowers, break them up and put them into to small tight little arrangements in teacups or even pretty juice glasses. Then put them all over your house. It makes them seem so much more important.

4) Unique Upholstery

I love mixing different fabrics on the seat, back and base. Keep it cohesive with color but have fun!

5) Chevron Walls

This is a great alternative to the horizontal stripe. It's a bit labor intensive but the results are stunning. See "how to" on link below

6) Flower Pins

Not just any pin these totally adorable pins from Emerson Made. How's that for adding a little spring to your wardrobe!

I know I’m a day late for the irish theme but I was just captivated by by these beautiful homes in Ireland.  It makes me want to pack my bags and head for the greenest place on earth.  I’ve never been there before but I need to go soon.  Enjoy!

This place is amazing, so amazing it has a name, Duncarrig.  This Victorian Gothic home has a waterfront location in Kinsale in County of Cork.  Sign me up!

Set on the cliffs of the bay it has a fishing platform, dock and secluded beach.

There are endless windows in this home allowing sun to poor in...provided it's a sunny day

Who couldn't wake up to this every morning!

This kitchen is well-appointed and it has a wonderful cozy and casual feel with the dining table right in the center.

Note the herringbone floors, fabulous!

If it’s a little more of a city feel you crave our next stop takes us to Dublin.  This villa is located on Albert Road and has endless amounts of upgrades.  The period style exterior is a just a facade to the modern interior.  Fully renovated including a glass cube addition.

I love the gravel driveway and simple landscaping.

The oversized lamps are sleek and beautiful giving accentuating the height of the room

I think I might live in this room

If it’s a secluded getaway you desire we are off to Archill Island in County of Mayo.  The Glor na Mara cottage is the ideal setting to paint, write or just relax.  It was designed and built by  famous architect in 2000 but you would never know considering it rustic appeal.

I'll be dragging my giant down comforter with me to this one. {That bed looks a little to rustic for me. ha!

Speaking of rustic. Hopefully town is nearby I may need to order out. Not that I cook. Does boiling water count?

Ah yes but this is your sunset
