let the season begin

April 30, 2010

It’s finally here…Flea Market Season!  It’s going to be kicked off with Paris Flea this Saturday at Aspen Grove. I’ll be there bright and early on the hunt for a large list of goodies for my clients and hopefully a a few must haves for myself.  Hope to see you there or let me know if there is something you are needing for your home.

love it or hate it?

Anybody catch the new 9 by design show on Bravo?  The real life drama of raising seven kids and running Sixx Design. Finally caught an episode last night and I loved it.  I think my favorite part was their accents. Ha! My husband and I had a fight over watching it about five minutes in but then I got him hooked and he stayed for the whole episode.  He just couldn’t understand how these people had all this money?? And a pink fridge and purple wallpaper for wrestler’s lounge??  I thought it was hilarious but I was shocked that the client didn’t flip out.  I’m not sure I could get  away with that.  I really think this couple is chic and hip and seemed “relatively” down to earth.  Apparently they earned their millions, yes millions, flipping houses in the New York City.  Ahh to dream.  But not sure I envy the seven children and constant moving both can take their toll on you.  And my husbands final note at the end was: “It looks like fun to have seven kids”.  My response: “Well when you make tens of millions flipping a house let me know and I may entertain the idea.”

before and after

April 28, 2010

Here is a pretty dining room before and after from Pheobe Howard.  I love how the room transforms the old red walls to a simple serene dining.  I can just tell that the rug is beautiful in person.   The drapes make the room softer and give it height. And the console perfectly showcase the lamps and mirror.

tuesday’s find

One more post for you from Vero before I head back to Denver.

M Maison a lovely little shop in Vero Beach that had the most beautiful artwork, linens and uniques finds.  Prices ranged from $12-$1200 but all was very reasonable. Batick pillows and covered journals, Roberta Roller Rabbit tunics and cute little dog bones.   I really wish we had a place like this in Denver  with seaside inspired finds and unique one of a kind treasures, it would be my go to shop.  I’m going to keep my eye on this shop and hopefully import a little Vero Beach for my clients in Denver.   Next time you find yourself in Vero Beach check  out.

Hi from Vero! I stumbled upon this designer as I was walking thru town.  Love his version of elegant beach design. Soft sandy tones, wispy drapes that blow in the breeze and casual comfort with seagrass rugs and white slipcovers. Perfectly suited for this easy going beach town.
