What to wear: the statement necklace

May 15, 2013

I LOVE necklaces! Big bold and fun necklaces. Wear them with a white tee, pair of jeans and flats or a simple LBD and heels for date night. My favorite go to is Anthropologie and you never spend more that $60 but you will get $1000 worth of wear. Some women have a shoe thing or a bag thing I have a thing for necklaces!

Weekend Thought

May 10, 2013

Have nothing in your house

that you don’t know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Love this quote I found as the parting thought at the end of the newest Rue Mag issue

Not just another pretty picture

April 16, 2013

As I continue work with clients to create beautiful spaces my perspective on how to approach the accessories has changed. It’s not about having it look totally perfect. Like we just had a photo shoot and that’s the way it should stay eternally!  People live there and life comes with all sorts of  recently read newspapers, kicked off shoes and a curled up pup. There is total beauty in those imperfections. They become the accessories and style that make the room.

Crazy for Coral

February 11, 2013

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I’m so totally inspired by these gorgeous corals images that I found on Pinterest this weekend. I’m dying to do a whole room in coral and drape my self in coral and drink coral colored drinks! You can pair it with blue, green, red and cream and it’s the perfect punch for spring.  Follow me on Pinterest to see what color is my next obsession!

Ginger Jars

October 19, 2012

I’m trying to amass a collection of ginger jars, I have quite a few right now but not all are the blue and white variety as they are much harder to come by and they are quite pricey at times. The history of blue and white porcelain can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty.  One might think that a ginger jar is used to hold ginger, true, but, throughout history, ginger jars have been used the way people in modern society use canisters. They were used to hold spices, salt and oils. Some ginger jars were designated as gifts for the emperor, and some were used as urns.

Oh and I think this is my ticket to the cobalt factor in my house. I recently stumbled on the Pink Pagoda site that has some great options.
